History
Built between 1562 and 1563, the Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio was the first unified seat of Bologna's university teaching, previously scattered across various buildings. Inside is the famous Anatomical Theatre, built in 1637 for public anatomy lessons, with wooden benches and the celebrated 'Spellati' (flayed figures) statues.
